SERVICES / 24/7 ALARM MONITORING
24/7 Monitoring. Intelligent Response. Built for Resilience.
Safeguard Security Group combines professional 24/7 alarm monitoring with the technical expertise, account management and ongoing support our customers have relied on for decades.
Our monitoring service is delivered through SMC's enterprise monitoring infrastructure, giving Safeguard customers access to two fully functioning Grade A1 R1A response centres operating in a dual-redundant configuration.
Specialist monitoring infrastructure behind the scenes. Safeguard in front of the customer.
Security technology continues to evolve rapidly. Monitoring infrastructure, communications, video verification, cyber resilience, software platforms and business-continuity requirements all require constant investment.
Safeguard's decision to partner with Security Monitoring Centres (SMC) allows us to combine specialist monitoring infrastructure with the personalised technical support and long-term customer relationships that have always defined Safeguard.
The result is a stronger monitoring model: enterprise-scale infrastructure behind the scenes, with Safeguard continuing to manage the security relationship in front of the customer.
REDUNDANCY WHERE IT MATTERS
Two response centres. One resilient monitoring environment.
SMC operates two fully functioning response centres maintained at Grade A1 R1A level and to Australian Standard AS 2201.2.
Its national monitoring platform and dual-redundant configuration are designed to allow monitoring workload and incoming calls to be transferred between centres when required.
This architecture provides an additional layer of resilience during events such as major technical incidents, abnormal traffic loads or natural disasters, supporting continuity of monitoring services around the clock.
DUAL-CENTRE RESILIENCE
Monitoring is about much more than receiving an alarm signal.
It is about what happens next.
HOW YOUR MONITORING SERVICE WORKS
A defined path from event to action.
- Detect
- Verify Where Configured
- Respond
- Review
Detect.
An alarm, duress, system fault or video event is transmitted to the monitoring platform.
Verify.
Where configured, operators can assess event information and use video verification to better understand what is occurring.
Respond.
The event is actioned in accordance with the agreed response plan, which may include nominated contacts, patrols or emergency-service procedures where applicable.
Review.
Safeguard can review event history, recurring faults and system performance to identify technical issues or unnecessary activations.
The monitoring centre is one part of the service—not the customer relationship.
Safeguard remains responsible for the relationship, the integration and the ongoing technical care of your security systems.
Customer account & monitoring-profile management
Safeguard remains the customer-facing security provider and manages the ongoing relationship around the monitored environment.
Response instructions & nominated contacts
Safeguard supports updates to alarm response instructions and nominated contact information.
Event history & recurring alarm review
Alarm and event history can be reviewed to identify repeated activations, technical faults and opportunities to improve the environment.
System health & service coordination
Safeguard coordinates technical investigation, programming, integration, maintenance and service requirements around the monitored system.
CCTV, national support & security advice
CCTV and remote-video integration can be incorporated where required, alongside national service coordination and ongoing security consultancy.
SMC provides the monitoring infrastructure. Safeguard provides the security expertise and ongoing customer relationship.

24-Hour Infrastructure Support
SMC's monitoring infrastructure is supported by technical resources around the clock.
Good monitoring is not simply about reacting to alarms.
It is also about understanding why they occur.
Through event reporting and Safeguard's ongoing technical oversight, recurring activations can be reviewed to identify issues such as user behaviour, detector faults, communication problems, low batteries or other system-health conditions.
That allows us to address the cause, not just the symptom—reducing unnecessary notifications, avoidable patrol attendances and disruption for the customer.
CCTV VERIFICATION & REMOTE VIDEO RESPONSE
Video can add context where the system is designed for it.
Where a customer's system is designed for video verification, alarm events can be supported by live CCTV assessment.
Operators can review relevant video, assess the event and follow the customer's predetermined response plan.
For suitable environments, remote video services can also support scheduled virtual tours and other remotely supervised security activities.
BUILT FOR NATIONAL & MULTI-SITE CUSTOMERS
Consistent monitoring as the portfolio grows.
For organisations operating across multiple sites, consistent monitoring, response instructions, reporting and account administration are essential.
Safeguard combines national electronic-security capability with centralised monitoring infrastructure, allowing customers to maintain a consistent security approach as their property portfolio grows or changes.
THE RELATIONSHIP IS DELIBERATE
Specialist infrastructure without handing away accountability.
Safeguard's monitoring model combines SMC's specialist response-centre infrastructure with Safeguard's integration, technical support, account management and long-term customer relationship.
Customers continue to deal with Safeguard as their security provider.
